Dreadful Rodger
Dreadful Roger
The vegetable man
He sold them vegetables by the can
He sold them quick
He made them sick
Roger the vegetable man
Dreadful Roger’s vegetable store
He did good business after the war
And the flood and the plague
Though his sell-by-dates were vague
The people were starving and poor
Within the crumbling city
And the broken streets
Dreadful Roger waited
To give them their treats
Though they thought him quite gruff
Unpleasant and rude
While they were munching and crunching
Complaining and lunching
They realised they were eating dog food!
The strung him up from a lamp post
And burnt his shop
Tied him up
And made him hop
They formed a crowd to shout and berate him
Built a fire……..
Then they ate him!
